When Mother’s Day is triggering

Today might not feel like a celebration and that’s okay.
Mother’s Day can be deeply triggering for women who are disconnected from their mothers.
Maybe your mom wasn’t emotionally available. Maybe she caused you pain she never took accountability for.
Maybe you’ve had to mother yourself for as long as you can remember.
If you’re feeling grief, anger, numbness, or guilt today… you’re not alone.
You don’t owe anyone forced gratitude. You don’t need to smile through discomfort. You’re allowed to honor your truth.
Today, I want to hold space for the daughters who are healing without an apology.
For the women who had to learn to self-soothe, self-celebrate, and self-validate.
For those breaking generational cycles and learning how to give themselves the love they never received.
This is a reminder that your pain is valid.
Your healing is sacred.
And your boundaries are a form of self-love.
If today feels heavy, let yourself rest.
You get to redefine what nurturing means on your own terms.
You are not alone.
